Many of these initiatives fail due to, either, lack of understanding of business and related processes supported or initiatives are launched without having the critical information needed to determine which improvements are most vital to the business. In this article, as part of a metrics driven approach for IT-Modernization, a framework is proposed which is used to evaluate processes’ fitness and determine the most critical tasks for the chemical organizations in particular. The approach utilizes Business Process Improvement to its full advantage by creating templates and artifacts for each stage of methodology that can result in accelerating the whole modernization process. As part of the approach, an implementation framework is also proposed which includes multiple reference models to be used by any organization when doing the implementation efforts.</em></p>}, number={1}, journal={Journal of the Pakistan Institute of Chemical Engineers}, author={Aslam, Muhammad and Shahbaz, Muhammad and Khalid, Adnan}, year={2013}, month={Sep.}, pages={67–78} }
