Wear rate, combustion by products and physical tests were performed on used lube oil after different working hours to establish the concentration of different metals (Cu, Fe, Cr, Pb, Al and Se), oxidation products (soot, oxidation, Sulfation and nitration) and water & oil analysis, respectively. Performance of CH-4 lube oil was better than CG-4 as its application resulted in less wear and oxidation products formation. Some basic lubricating oil analyses like flash point, kinematic viscosity and total base number were also performed for both lubricants. Flash point and kinematic viscosity remained almost constant. TBN (Total Base Number) values decreased over the working range and were higher for CH-4 than CG-4. The trend was in accordance with elemental wear analysis. Thus, CH-4 was concluded as better lube oil than CG-4.</p>}, number={2}, journal={Journal of the Pakistan Institute of Chemical Engineers}, author={Feroze, Dr. Nadeem and Rustam, Masooma and Khan, Anam and Kazmi, Mohsin and AKhtar, Tayyaba}, year={2014}, month={Aug.}, pages={125–132} }
