The sorption of benzene by both biosorbents over a wide pH range (2 to 11), temperature (10°C to 80°C) and agitation time (5 min to 100 min) was observed. Optimum dose was determined at optimum conditions of temperature (30°C), agitation time (60 min) and pH (5 to 6). High performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC) was employed to investigate the concentrations of benzene in aqueous solutions. Results indicate that both the bio sorbents possess excellent efficiency for the removal of carcinogenic hydrocarbons. Comparative analysis indicates that peanut hull removed benzenemore efficiently as compared to rice husk from aqueous solution.</p> ER -
